I put up with the door not really holding anything well whether it fell through like the freezer or not narrow enough in fridge to hold bottles upside down when near finished. The fridge door looked nice in store but after sometime you realize it is very badly designed. The sealing was warped but it appeared to not leak coldness. The stainless steel is very hard to keep looking nice. Now what has made me write this review after 2 years is that I am having the repair man again in less than 2 months to fix it. First the fridge was freezing and defrosting all day long and now the freezer is doing it. Ugh as I write this I notice it now makes loud noise when motor turns on. I am so hoping to replace this somehow. I'm fed up of wasting money on food.

I do like this frig--it is quiet-unlike the last GE model we bought--however, I have nothing good to say about the freezer door shelves. There is definitely a design flaw--a BIG one--nothing will fit--things are either too big to fit or things slide out the enormous gap. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??? I can think of nothing that will stay on these shelves without falling out. I will have to buy some stupid container to fill the gap (2 inches)--the "shelves" on the door measure approx 2" each in width but they are curved where they meet the door. What can fit on that??? There should be a retro fit shelf available. Nowhere in the info is this pointed out when looking for frigs. Who designs these things. Please develop a shelf fix for this. We payed $$$ for this model and now I cannot use half the freezer. I do not accept that there is no fix for this because in the comments here you have known about this for some time.

This arrived a few weeks ago and we have no regrets. We've had no issues. My husband, the picky one, is completely happy with the evenness of the cooling.

I had an older model refrigerator that was manufactured in 1995. It was starting to run all the time raising my utility bill more than what I could afford. I am on a strict budget from a fixed income. I took an Energy Class sponsored by DTE and found out I qualified for the refrigerator through their recycling program. I was blessed with an Energy Star Efficient new refrigerator!! Thank You to Whirlpool and DTE and MCOP for making this a true blessing in my Life.
