This refrigerator came with our new home installed by the builder Aug-2018. We were so excited to use this refrigerator in the beginning. However we faced some issues with doors first and then water leaking and over temp indicator on etc., When called the builder they sent the certified service technicians few times but the problem with doors not closing properly still remains. Thats when I see all these messages about same issue. I'm not happy with this refrigerator for the price paid. I hope company can address this issue and provide a permanent solution for our problem.

Bought a unit 2 years ago. Doors never worked correctly, and had numerous service calls. KitchenAid replaced with a new unit and we love it. I believe the first unit was never properly installed and that caused the difficulties with the doors. But KitchenAid stood by their product and now very happy with the French door design.

We purchased this fridge and have had many issues with the internal components. First I understand that nothing lasts forever, and moving parts will fail. That’s acceptable. But changing the entire inner workings of the fridge pretty much every 2 years is unacceptable. This is not a cheap fridge, and you’re looking at $10-13,000. The first time the compressor failed was probably about 18-24 months in. This was promptly replaced under warranty. Then a couple years later, it failed again, and the compressor was replaced again. A third time it was recommended to change all internal parts (compressor, condenser, evaporator), since the technician was there and had opened up the inside. A fourth time the electrical system failed entirely, and the electrical board had to be fully replaced. So this is another out of pocket cost. Now today, the freezer is not cooling again while the fridge is staying cool, although there is considerable fluctuation, leading me to believe that it’s going to fully fail again. Currently I had to move all my frozen foods to a family members freezer. I’m looking at getting another tech out to replace the parts again. For the 5th time. This appliance looks great from the outside, but its internal componentry has probably cost me half the cost of replacing the fridge. I can’t in good conscience recommend this fridge.
