Why do I need Wifi to use my oven?

We bought this oven mainly for the new features, but are frustrated to learn that some features can't be used unless it's connected to Wifi. Air Fryer? Have to connect to Wifi. Convection Bake? Have to connect to Wifi. Convection Roast? Have to connect to Wifi? What's next? Will I have to sign up for GE's monthly plan to use any of the functions?

I’ve been waiting for my Range to die so that I could buy a new one. I cook every day, sometimes more than once, and I need a well designed and reliable stove that performs at the professional level. I chose this GE profile range because of the double ovens and I couldn’t be happier.It boiled a pot of pasta water in less than five minutes. The ovens cook evenly and the temperature settings match my internal thermometer. All in all, this is a wonderful appliance that I would recommend it to anybody looking for a new range.
