My old refrigerator was a Whirlpool, which was working well after 15 years, but NH Saves audit suggested I get a newer Energy Star model. I found that this Whirlpool was rated with a yearly cost of $49, far less than anything newer and fancier (mostly $60-$80 a year) and the cost $599.99, was far less than any of the newer ones, which were $1,000-$2,500. The door swings open easily if we don't push it shut and slams on top of my foot. My husband and I tried to raise the front legs 3", but it fell out before 3".The old one had a 3" vent under the door. The refrigerator drawers seem much lighter plastic than the old one and may break easier. It seems to hold more than my old one and is the same size, so a better designed interior. The deli drawer on my old one was larger. I wish a gallon of milk would fit on the door like my old one. I also have a Whirlpool Microwave, which has lasted 3 years, whereas the old one failed after one year. It is starting to go. When it does I will look at Whirlpool.

Just purchased 2 weeks ago to upgrade. 18 cu. ft doesn't sound very big, bit it is roomy. The meat tray slides from side to side to accommodate tall bottles. The storage in the door is great. Only thing I'd rate a 9 on is the vegetable bins...just wish they length to accommodate celery etc. But I love it!
