purchased the 27.4 cu. ft. side by side for my new home. it looks great however just over a year later i went to get a bowl of ice cream and found the ice cream to be almost pudding like consistency. called for service thru my extended protection plan and the service person wrote on the ticket: "inefficient compressor or low refrigerant". no help thru samsung or the place of purchase and now stuck with a refrigerator that runs 24 hours a day and struggles to maintain the set temperature. do not purchase...i'll wait until it totally stops running to force the issue with samsung or with the place of purchase.

we bought this fridge in may and had it plugged in without the water connected and the ice maker set to off while we renovated our new place. we finally brought it inside and connected the water a few weeks ago and realized we didn’t have any ice after a few days, so we followed samsung’s troubleshooting guides. with no luck, i requested a repair and had to set up a phone call before a repair could be requested. i followed their additional steps and they said it’s possible the water filter was defective, which would not be covered under warranty because it’s an accessory, not a part of the fridge. so a brand new samsung filter in a brand new samsung fridge is not covered under warranty? makes no sense and seems extremely unfair that they expect us to pay $50 for a replacement already.

I have loved Samsung products. My new home had a new refrigerator (this one), dishwasher and stove. Unfortunately, if you have an issue their service is incredibly bad. The ice maker would not work correctly. Their service dept came out three times to repair it including replacing the door (on that trip the service man dropped the door and dented the front of my dishwasher which they refused to fix). Eventually I had to buy a different brand.

we purchased this side by side for our new home. really loved the look. but it came with a sticker on the right door. i believe stating 10 year warranty. who wants a sticker on the fridge in a new home. my wife attempted to remove. it scratch the door. i contacted samsung and was told we are not covered for scratches. say what?, we didn't put the label there. so now we have a scratched door on the new fridge.

love the refrigerator, the design but the icemaker is not worth crap. crushed ice is not crushed it big chunks takes forever take ice.
