When we built our home in 2001 we purchased all GE appliance. Our microwave just died and we were lucky enough to find almost the exact same one to purchase again. We love our GE microwave.

Previously owned GE Profile, lasted 19 yrs. From previous reviews of current manufactured microwaves, the lifespan maybe 1-4 yrs. so I also purchased a 5 yr warranty and a 10 yr magnetron warranty as well. The new microwave sounds lighter in structure, but louder when door is closed. It seems to heat faster than my other one even thou the wattage is the same. This one has the ablility to turn off the turntable and also has an additional 30 second button, both which can be handy. We had it installed to the outside vent as the last one. SInce I have only had a week, I have no complaints thus far.
