Looking at the CFM rating, I imagined that the system would suffice for the cooking. However oil vapors are still seen above the hood. Installation was a pain. This doesn't come with a power cord. That has to be purchased separately. Also loud.

DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK. The fan failed and broke apart after 5-10 min of use. After the fan failed, I did some research and this is an issue that others have had too. The fan internals are plastic and can fail with heat. It was a poor design choice. Save yourself some money and buy a top-rated unit for much less that uses aluminum fan blades. Google will point you in the right direction and you'll save hundreds too. KitchenAid Customer service is useless. They refused to refund my money and now I'm left waiting for parts. I can't cook with my stove or oven since the hood fan is broken. KitchenAid has done nothing to expedite repairs, once they have your money, they simply don't care about you or finding a suitable solution. It's been nine days now and counting and I have no idea when the repairs will be made despite being told the repairman has received parts. I've made 4-5 phone calls, sent 4 emails. They just don't know how to service their customer in a responsible way. FYI KitchenAid - you should have next day shipped the part I needed or refunded my money immediately. Your business practices are terrible. I will never do business again. Thanks for nothing!

I enjoy the way this venthood works. It is very strong but yet quiet and the lighting illuminated the cooktop and very well, allowing me to see my cooking and the food so much better than the previous hood.

We wanted to replace our down draft gas stove, but was fearful of installing an exhaust to the outside. The contractor recommended this exhaust vent as a solution. Perfect solution.
