It is a gas cooktop, it does what it is supposed to the main issue is cleaning the thing. There are 3 grates that cover the 5 burners. They sit on tiny nubs and interlock. So every time you cook you must remove these to clean. The side ones weigh 10.5 pounds, which is a bit excessive to remove daily. Unfortunately these monster grates seem to be the current bad trend. We are building a house and with our experience with new Oven, Fridge and cooktop, we won't be looking at Maytag.

I am having my kitchen remodeled. I was looking for a good reliable stovetop and this one had all I was looking for. It was a good price. May tag has a good reputation and it's made here in the USA!
